Strategic Initiatives Manager
Leads client engagements from framing through to the twelve-month review, and owns the tracking register that the practice is built around. This role requires somebody willing to record honestly that their own recommendation did not survive.
What you will do
- Lead consulting engagements across operations, structure and change programmes
- Conduct interviews and process observation, including with staff well below the leadership team
- Assign a named individual owner and an implementation cost to every recommendation issued
- Score each recommendation for abandonment risk against sponsor stability, available capacity, ownership and external dependencies
- Flag high-risk recommendations to the client before engagement sign-off, including where this reduces agreed scope
- Conduct three, six and twelve month reviews recording the status of every recommendation against original intent
- Continue tracking where a client relationship has ended, so the published rate is not distorted by selection
- Maintain the aggregate abandonment record and the analysis of causes behind it
What we are looking for
- Five or more years in management consulting, operations or a senior internal change role
- Comfortable recording and presenting the failure of your own recommendations
- Strong interviewing skills and the judgement to read an organization below its own account of itself
- Ability to present unwelcome findings to a board without softening them
- Willingness to tell a client that a recommendation should be dropped before it is attempted
Senior Consultant
Owns board relationships on larger engagements and leads the post-implementation review practice, including reviews of work delivered by other consultancies.
What you will do
- Lead multi-workstream engagements and board relationships
- Run post-implementation reviews on work delivered by others
- Present findings to full boards including material concerning the executive
- Supervise consultants and review every report before issue
What we are looking for
- Eight or more years in consulting or senior operational leadership
- Board-level presentation experience
- Track record of engagements that were actually implemented
- Comfortable reviewing and criticising another firm's work on evidence
Consultant
Engagement delivery across analysis, interviews and reporting, with responsibility for tracking reviews on assigned recommendations.
What you will do
- Conduct interviews and process analysis
- Draft findings and recommendations for review
- Run three and six month tracking reviews
- Maintain engagement records and the tracking register
What we are looking for
- Three or more years in consulting, analysis or operational improvement
- Clear written work with evidence separated from inference
- Comfortable on a client site rather than behind a desk
- Professional qualification support provided
Analyst
Supports engagements across data, interview notes and documentation, progressing to independent delivery within two years.
What you will do
- Gather and analyse operational and financial data
- Prepare interview notes and thematic summaries
- Support report production and quality checking
- Maintain tracking records accurately
